The National Comedy Theatre improv classes are an exciting and fun approach for people from all walks of life: actors, writers, lawyers or plumbers, beginners to experienced performers... the skills we teach can be applied to all areas.
NCT Phoenix's improv comedy workshops have been featured on ABC 15 news and our experienced, talented instructors have performed across the country and all around the world.
Whether you want to perform improv comedy in front of a live audience or simply develop skills that can help you in your work environment and every day, the National Comedy Theatre improv classes can help you achieve your goals.

New Sampler Workshops are a great way to dip your toe into the world of comedy improv. This 3 week class will cover a complete over-view of what improvisation has to offer. You will learn the games, the exercises and the hints and tips professional improvisers use on stage. You will improve your listening skills, quick thinking abilities and build confidence while having a great time with minimal commitment. This class is a fun, no pressure, comprehensive introduction to Improvisation. You will learn the games and exercises used by the pros of National Comedy Theatre to develop your ability to focus, use teamwork, listen, think on your feet and improve confidence. Hone your quick thinking skills, performance ability and timing in a way that will help you on stage, in the work place and every day of your life.

Level 2
6 weeks
Prerequisite - NCT Level 1
Fee $175
Building upon the skills learned in Level 1, this class places a stronger emphasis on character and complex scene development. Improv theory, storytelling, and advanced improv skills are learned, as well as a myriad of short form games.
This class will culminate in a performance for family and friends on the NCT Phoenix stage.
Level 3- Minor League
6 week sessions, ongoing
Fee $75.00 / session
Prerequisite - NCT Level 1 & 2 or instructor recomendation.
An advanced, ongoing class which will bring all the skills learned in the previous two courses together, with a focus on live performance. In this class, students are taught games taken directly from the NCT repetoire, which they will perform regularly at our theater for an invited audience.
